Most friendships or transactions work on the idea of reciprocity. When someone does something for you, you know there is an underlying expectation that the favor will someday be returned. In capitalism, when we go out and buy something, we typically exchange cash for a purchase. So the idea of reciprocity exists in the commerce system too. Since that is the way we live, it often brings out a feeling of guilt if we take something and don’t give something in return. The timing in this strategy is based on market timing more than timing what you say or do. Of course, you want to know when to apply this strategy in the greater marketplace. For that you have to listen to the social issues going on and what problems are arising for a great number of people. You want to target the demographic with those problems. Then, you want to add websites and offers that appeal to those people based on hope and change. If you do it before you consider the market, this strategy will work, but it will have a greater impact if you time it to coincide with the greater issues going on at large in society.
